Discover our journey from a small student initiative to a community pillar in Wad Medani, Sudan.
Hayat Charitable Association was founded by a group of students from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Gezira, Wad Medani, Sudan. The idea for its establishment emerged after the "Fasting Bag" initiative in 2004, after which the students began working to establish the association to expand the scope of their work and ensure its continuity.
Hayat Charitable Association is considered one of the pioneering associations in the field of voluntary work at the University of Gezira and throughout the state. It has consistently provided assistance and support to registered orphans and needy individuals over the years.
The association played an active role in establishing the Gezira Relief Initiative to aid those affected by floods in 2014. It also contributed to relief efforts for those affected by floods in Sennar.
It is a message for humanity and kindness, passed down and developed through generations. We pray to the Almighty to accept it and sustain its benefit and prosperity under the slogan "A Life of Work to Paint Hope."
What began with 12 students from the Faculty of Medicine has expanded to include volunteers from all faculties of the University of Gezira and beyond. Over 20 years, more than 500 volunteers have participated in managing the association’s various programs to deliver its message.
Our commitment to transparency, community engagement, and sustainable solutions has earned us the trust of beneficiaries and donors, allowing us to expand our work to include over 200 families in Wad Medani and its surroundings.
